Learners are guided on how to respond responsibly during fire emergencies while following recognised fire safety standards, workplace procedures, and emergency response protocols. Introduction to Fire Fighting: Understanding the purpose of fire safety, fire prevention, legal responsibilities, workplace requirements, and the role of employees during fire emergencies.
Fire Theory: Learn the fire triangle — heat, fuel, and oxygen — as well as the stages of fire, how fires develop, and common causes of workplace fires.
Classes of Fire: Understand Class A, B, C, D, and electrical fires, including how to identify different fire types and select the appropriate extinguishing agent.
Fire Extinguishers & Suppression Media: Learn about common extinguishers and suppression agents, including CO₂, foam, dry chemical powder, and water, and understand their appropriate applications and limitations.
Fire Prevention & Control: Identify common workplace fire hazards, safe storage practices, housekeeping requirements, preventative measures, and procedures for reducing the risk of fire.
Emergency Response Procedures: Learn how to respond during a fire emergency, including evacuation routes, assembly points, alarm systems, emergency communication, and reporting procedures.
