Our Working at Heights / Fall Arrest Training Course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to work safely at height and use fall-arrest systems correctly in professional working environments. The training covers fall hazards, risk assessment, fall prevention, fall-arrest equipment, full-body harnesses, lanyards, lifelines, anchor points, connecting systems, safe access and movement, inspection of equipment, emergency procedures, and rescue considerations. Learners develop an understanding of workplace hazards and safe work procedures while following manufacturer guidelines, workplace requirements, and applicable occupational health and safety standards. The course is suitable for individuals working in construction, maintenance, engineering, telecommunications, roofing, installation, industrial operations, and other environments where work is performed at height.
Introduction to Working at Heights: Understand the hazards associated with working at elevated positions, common causes of falls, responsibilities of workers, and the importance of following safe work procedures.
Fall Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment: Learn how to identify fall hazards, unsafe access points, open edges, unprotected platforms, fragile surfaces, overhead hazards, and changing work conditions, and apply appropriate control measures.
Fall Prevention Systems: Learn the principles of fall prevention, including guardrails, barriers, safe work platforms, access systems, and other measures designed to prevent workers from reaching a fall hazard.
Fall Arrest Equipment: Learn about full-body harnesses, shock-absorbing lanyards, lifelines, connectors, anchor points, energy absorbers, and other fall-arrest equipment, including their correct purpose and application.
Harness Inspection & Fitting: Learn how to inspect, correctly fit, adjust, connect, and maintain a full-body harness, while identifying damaged, worn, contaminated, or defective equipment that should not be used.
Anchorage & Connection Systems: Understand the requirements for selecting and using suitable anchor points, lifelines, connectors, and attachment systems, while maintaining secure connections during work at height.
Safe Work Procedures: Develop safe working practices for ladders, scaffolds, elevated platforms, roofs, structures, edges, and other elevated work areas, including safe movement and positioning.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Learn the correct selection, use, inspection, storage, and maintenance of helmets, safety footwear, gloves, harnesses, lanyards, and other required PPE.
Fall Arrest & Emergency Procedures: Learn what to do following a fall or other emergency, including raising the alarm, stopping work, securing the area, communicating with supervisors, and following established emergency and rescue procedures.
Post-Operation Procedures: Learn how to inspect, clean, store, and maintain fall-protection equipment, report defects or incidents, and complete required workplace documentation.
