The course is designed to help employees, supervisors, and other learners understand HIV/AIDS, make informed decisions, promote respectful behaviour, and contribute to a safe, informed, and supportive workplace and community.

Introduction to HIV/AIDS Awareness: Understanding HIV and AIDS, the difference between HIV and AIDS, how HIV affects the immune system, common misconceptions, and the importance of awareness in the workplace and community.

Understanding HIV Transmission & Prevention: Learning how HIV is transmitted and how it is not transmitted, recognising common myths, understanding HIV prevention methods, and learning about safer practices, voluntary testing, and the importance of knowing one’s HIV status.

Treatment, Care & Support: Understanding the importance of early diagnosis, antiretroviral therapy (ART), ongoing medical care, treatment adherence, and available support services for people living with HIV. Training also covers how HIV treatment helps people live long and healthy lives.

Workplace Awareness, Confidentiality & Human Rights: Understanding confidentiality, privacy, respectful communication, and the rights of people living with HIV. Learners explore ways to prevent stigma and discrimination, promote supportive workplace practices, and contribute to an informed, inclusive, and respectful environment.

HIV Prevention & Risk Reduction: Developing knowledge of HIV prevention methods, understanding situations that may involve transmission risks, learning about safer practices, and knowing where to access prevention services, including condoms, PrEP, and PEP where appropriate.

HIV Testing, Treatment & Support Services: Learning about voluntary HIV testing, the importance of early diagnosis, antiretroviral therapy (ART), treatment adherence, and ongoing care. Learners also gain awareness of available healthcare services, counselling, and support for people living with HIV.

Reducing Stigma & Promoting Healthy Communities: Understanding how stigma, discrimination, misinformation, and social attitudes affect people living with HIV. Training covers respectful communication, confidentiality, human rights, inclusive workplace practices, and promoting informed, supportive, and non-discriminatory communities.
