Our Aluminium Welding Training course is designed to develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and safety awareness required to produce quality aluminium welds in professional workshop and industrial environments. Learners are introduced to the properties and behaviour of aluminium, correct welding equipment and consumables, material preparation, welding techniques, heat control, and common welding defects. The course includes practical training to help learners develop proper torch control, electrode and filler selection, accurate weld preparation, and the ability to produce clean and consistent welds on different aluminium materials and joints. Training also emphasises safe working practices, correct PPE, equipment handling, and quality inspection, helping learners build practical skills that can be applied in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, engineering, and industrial work environments.

Theory Training – 20%: The theory component combines classroom-based learning with structured lessons, discussions, and group activities. Learners develop a strong foundation in aluminium welding principles, material properties, equipment, welding techniques, safety procedures, and correct workshop practices.

Practical Training – 80%: The practical component provides hands-on workshop experience focused on real-world aluminium welding techniques. Learners apply their theoretical knowledge while practising equipment setup, material preparation, welding techniques, heat control, and producing quality welds under professional supervision.

Competency Assessment: Learners undergo a competency assessment conducted by qualified assessors and moderators. The assessment evaluates their theoretical knowledge, practical welding skills, safety awareness, equipment handling, and ability to perform aluminium welding tasks correctly, safely, and competently.

Introduction to Aluminium Welding: Understanding the properties and behaviour of aluminium during welding, the key differences between aluminium and steel welding, different aluminium grades and their applications, and how material selection influences welding techniques.

Aluminium Welding Safety: Correct use of welding PPE, workshop ventilation and fume extraction, fire prevention, emergency procedures, safe operation of welding equipment, and general workplace safety practices.

Welding Equipment, Tools & Consumables: Learners become familiar with AC/DC welding machines, TIG and MIG aluminium welding equipment, shielding gases, filler materials, torches, nozzles, cables, and other essential accessories. Training also covers correct equipment setup, preparation, adjustment, and safe handling.

TIG Aluminium Welding (GTAW): Training covers setting up the TIG welding machine, adjusting controls, selecting suitable tungsten electrodes, controlling heat, welding thin aluminium sheets, producing consistent weld beads and joints, and applying techniques to reduce porosity and prevent cracking. Learners also learn the importance of proper aluminium preparation and handling before welding.

MIG Aluminium Welding (GMAW): Learners develop practical MIG welding skills, including correct machine setup and settings, suitable wire selection, test welds, techniques for welding different aluminium thicknesses, identifying common MIG defects, troubleshooting welding problems, and adjusting techniques to achieve consistent weld quality.

Practical Aluminium Welding: Learners put their knowledge into practice through supervised hands-on welding exercises using realistic industrial workpieces. Practical training includes different welding positions, joints, and techniques, together with inspecting completed welds, identifying defects, and improving overall weld quality.

Develop Practical Welding Skills: Our Aluminium Welding Training combines classroom learning with hands-on workshop experience to help learners develop the technical skills, safety awareness, and practical confidence required to work with aluminium in fabrication, manufacturing, engineering, construction, and industrial environments.
