How much does plumbing training cost?
Our basic Plumbing Training Course costs R8,500 per person for 4 weeks of training. The course introduces learners to plumbing tools, pipework, fittings, water supply systems, drainage and basic plumbing installations. Learners develop foundational knowledge and practical skills that can be used in plumbing projects, property maintenance and construction environments.

Is plumbing difficult to learn?
Plumbing becomes easier to understand through proper instruction, demonstrations and practical exercises. Beginners learn how water flows through plumbing systems, how pipes and fittings connect, and how to identify and address basic plumbing problems. As learners practise measuring, cutting, joining and installing pipework, they develop accuracy and confidence when working with plumbing materials.

Plumbing also involves understanding measurements, water pressure, drainage flow and the correct use of tools. Our basic training introduces these concepts progressively, helping learners understand how plumbing systems work and how their components fit together.

What does a Plumbing Course cover?
Our basic Plumbing Course introduces learners to the fundamental knowledge and practical techniques used in plumbing installations and maintenance. Training covers:

  • Introduction to plumbing: Understanding the purpose of plumbing systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

  • Plumbing tools and equipment: Identifying and using common plumbing hand tools and equipment.

  • Pipes and fittings: Learning about common pipe materials, fittings, connectors and their applications.

  • Measuring and cutting pipes: Practising accurate measurement, marking and cutting techniques.

  • Pipe joining techniques: Introduction to basic methods of connecting pipes and fittings.

  • Water supply systems: Understanding the basic layout of cold-water and hot-water supply systems.

  • Plumbing installations: Learning how basic pipework and plumbing components are installed.

  • Drainage systems: Understanding wastewater drainage, pipe gradients and the importance of proper flow.

  • Taps, valves and connections: Identifying common plumbing fixtures, valves and connection components.

  • Leak detection and repairs: Understanding common causes of leaks and basic repair techniques.

  • Sanitary fittings: Introduction to the plumbing connections used for sinks, basins, toilets and other fixtures.

  • Maintenance procedures: Learning basic inspection, troubleshooting and plumbing maintenance practices.

  • Workshop safety: Using tools responsibly and following safe working procedures.

The practical component helps learners become familiar with plumbing materials, practise basic installation techniques and understand how plumbing components work together in a functioning system.

Where can a plumber work?
Plumbing skills are used in construction, property maintenance, building services and water system installations. Learners can pursue relevant entry-level opportunities in environments such as:

  • Residential construction: Assisting with plumbing installations in houses, apartments and residential developments.

  • Commercial construction: Supporting plumbing work in offices, shopping centres and commercial buildings.

These roles can provide practical experience with pipe installations, fittings, water supply systems, drainage and general plumbing maintenance.

The skills acquired can also help learners undertake suitable basic plumbing projects and develop their understanding of building services. With further experience and skills development, learners can progress towards more advanced plumbing work, installation projects and specialised plumbing techniques.

Plumbing is a practical skill that is useful across residential, commercial and industrial environments, making it a valuable foundation for individuals interested in construction and property maintenance.

Can I get a plumbing certificate after training?
Yes, learners who successfully complete the course requirements receive a Plumbing Training Certificate. The certificate provides evidence of completing our basic plumbing training and can support applications for relevant entry-level positions in plumbing assistance, construction and maintenance.

The course introduces learners to essential plumbing principles and practical techniques, providing a foundation they can build on through workplace experience and further training.

What are the requirements for plumbing training?
Our basic Plumbing Course is suitable for beginners who want to develop practical plumbing skills. You do not need advanced plumbing experience to begin learning the fundamentals.

Learners should be able to understand instructions, concentrate during practical activities and follow workshop safety procedures. Basic measuring skills, attention to detail and the ability to work carefully with tools and materials are helpful when cutting pipes, assembling fittings and carrying out plumbing tasks.

A willingness to learn, solve basic problems and follow instructions will help learners develop their skills throughout the course. The training introduces plumbing concepts progressively, making it suitable for individuals starting their journey in the plumbing trade.
